A summer of support from Bath’s business community
It’s been a busy summer of fundraising across Bath, with businesses, employees and local organisations finding plenty of ways to come together, have some fun and raise funds for Alongside.
From golf and boules to summer festivals and community fayres, we’ve been incredibly grateful to see so many people from across the local professional community getting behind our work.
Teeing off the summer with Flower Property
Flower Property kicked things off in May with their annual Golf Tournament, bringing their networks together for a day on the course - raising more than £600 for Alongside.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part and helped start our summer of fundraising on such a positive note!
Back at Bath Boules
Our team was delighted to return to Bath Boules this summer, an event we’ve enjoyed being part of many times over the years.
Now organised by the Bath Business Improvement District, it brings people together from across the city for friendly competition and a brilliant opportunity to connect with Bath’s professional community.
We have been fortunate to benefit from funds raised through Bath Boules over the years, with proceeds from the event distributed amongst local charities and organisations. It was fantastic to be back amongst so many familiar faces and local supporters again this year!
Summer Fest with L&C
In July, we were thrilled to be chosen as a beneficiary of L&C’s annual Summer Fest, held at Bath Racecourse, where the team raised over £1600!
With a range of vendors, great food and plenty for L&C employees to enjoy throughout the day, there was a brilliant atmosphere from start to finish.
Care UK gets behind Alongside
Our summer fundraising has also had fantastic support from the staff and residents at Care UK’s Rush Hill Mews care home in Bath, who have chosen Alongside as their Charity of the Year.
Fundraising has been taking place throughout the year, from plant sales to staff teams signing up to take on the Circuit of Bath.
In August, Rush Hill Mews hosted its summer fayre, bringing together residents, staff and visitors for a day of stalls, music and a brilliant BBQ, all while raising funds for Alongside.
And their fundraising will go even further, with Care UK matching everything raised up to £1,000.

These events all look very different, but they have something important in common: Our professional community generously using their time, networks, and communities to support others.
We’re hugely grateful to everyone who has organised, taken part, donated, or helped make these events happen.
Partnerships with our local business community help us continue to be there for people experiencing homelessness, domestic abuse and other forms of social exclusion across the South and West of England. And, as this summer has shown, supporting a local charity can also be a fantastic excuse to get people together.
