Future ready
Future Ready is a skills and employability programme for 18–21-year-olds in Bath & North East Somerset who are not in education, employment or training.
The programme is open to young people from within our own services, as well as people referred from other local providers and those who wish to self-refer.
Future Ready includes:
-
Getting started: We can meet you somewhere that feels comfortable, such as in the community, where you are living, or online. The first sessions are about getting to know you, listening to what matters to you, and building trust.
-
Planning together: We will talk with you about what is going well, what might be getting in the way, and what you would like to work towards. Together, we will agree small, realistic steps that feel manageable.
-
Regular one-to-one support: You will have weekly support from the same coach, so you do not have to keep repeating your story. You may also be invited to small group sessions in friendly, easy-to-reach places.
-
Help with practical problems: We can support you with things that may be making life harder, such as benefits, ID, travel, housing, registering with a GP, or getting mental health support. Where helpful, we will work with other trusted services too.
-
Building skills and confidence: We can help you develop life skills, digital skills, CVs, interview practice, volunteering, learning opportunities, employer visits, and short work tasters.
-
Moving on: When you are ready, we can help with applications, go with you to visits or appointments, and keep in touch for up to six months once you start work, education or training.
